Different States of Happiness

Different States of Happiness

Yesterday I got into a heated debate. A psychiatrist had told a very good friend of mine, someone very dear to me, that it was perfectly normal to occasionally feel like you just don’t want to get out of bed, that it is normal to “feel down”.

With all due respect to her degrees and profession, I PASSIONATELY disagree with her.

When you are inline with your purpose in life, follow your heart every day, have grand dreams and ambitions, every day is new and exciting because every single day brings you a step closer to fulfilling your dreams. Your energy is on fire because you are connected to life – there is purpose to your life and it is exciting. Being happy becomes a natural state of mind!

Of course, I understand where she is coming from. She is seeing the world through the limitations that society has placed on her. She has only ever known one way of living : school, university, study hard, graduate, work, started her own company, buy a nice house, drive a nice car, have a healthy social life…. sounds familiar, right?

She is living the best life possible within the world she knows .

Our perception of happiness is limited to our life circumstances and experiences.

But you have to understand that there is a million different lifestyles, thousands of different cultures, billions of possibilities. Explore, travel, learn, expose yourself to the world as much as possible, and then CHOOSE how you want your life to be and start creating it, developing a peaceful, loving mind in the process and then every day you will wake up truly happy and grateful!
