Happy Happy Happy big full Happy Happy Happy

Most people have a bi-polar / manic depressive type relationship with happiness and being happy in general. Traditionally, we spend our lives living a life which gives our spirit no satisfaction. Day after day, year after year in the same groundhog style existence void of any true stimulation or meaning, eventually rendering the collective psychology of our society and us as individuals, as bordering on depressive. From this predominantly depressed state of mind, what happens then, is when you do experience stimulation and excitement, you experience “happiness” in the extreme and swing from one side of the pendulum to the polar opposite emotion. This “happiness” is powerful because it allows you to escape the heaviness of your unfulfilled life, even for the briefest moment. Our brains, upon receiving these new exciting, liberating experiences, naturally start to release endorphins which raises the happiness factor even higher. Experiencing extreme happiness like this is fantastic and fun and why most people live for the weekends, but the problem is that this level of happiness is not sustainable in the life. It is not TRUE happiness because as you resubmerge back into your ordinary life, the heaviness of your dissatisfaction quickly engulfs you again and you swing back to the depressed state of mind where you normally reside.

Because the majority of our population knows no other life, they come to accept this depressed state of being as a natural part of their boring life and by way of acceptance, entrain themselves to the rat race and create a comfortable, satisfactory life within the trappings of the cage they know, but for others the traditional life destroys their soul and they turn to suicide as an answer to end their suffering. Just look at your cities suicide rates for evidence and know that those statistics are just the tip of the iceberg for evaluating the seriousness and widespread condition of this issue. Many millions more, all over the world, are so depressed and unsatisfied with the life that they live with the thought of suicide on their minds every day. It’s a tragedy.

But regardless of the collective psychology of society, we as human beings, have the unique ability and gift of consciousness. Through the process of observation and contemplation we can break free of the traditional life and societies collective mindset and instead refocus and develop our minds in alignment to our true hopes and dreams. Ultimately, no other person nor any event in your life can make you happy – only YOU have the power to make yourself happy, so you need to take full ownership and 100% responsibility for your life and happiness. Every decision you make needs to reflect your deeper desires to live your best life and be happy.

When you break free of the traditional life, follow your heart and begin to intentionally create and live your best life, you will for several months and / or years feel an elated sense of happiness, liberation and freedom in your new lifestyle as you compensate for all those years of misery! Over time your natural state of mind will eventually come to rest and plateau at a level which is best described as being of simple contentment and you will no longer experience that bi-polar shift as you swing between opposing mental states and instead, once you settle into the rhythms of your best life, your predominant mindset will become one of simply feeling peaceful, content and appreciative.

Once you reach this stage, your next challenge will be to develop your attitude and mindset to you are capable of maintaining your happiness so you truly begin to live the best of life. When you are truly happy, life events and day to day happenings do NOT determine your happiness, only you have the power to choose how you react to situations and how you let the life events effect you. Regardless of whether things “go right” or “go wrong”, every day is a great day, but you need to develop and maintain this mental attitude to ensure your continued happiness. When setbacks, disappointments and rejection occur do not let any of it bother you, instead take it in your stride, hold your head up high, find the good in the experience, reassess the situation, refocus your energy and carry on with a big smile and an open, loving heart.

You can be happy regardless of whether the sun is shining or there is a thunderstorm threatening to effect your plans. When you are truly happy you simply understand what life is about and what it means to be alive. True happiness is a peaceful, steady and powerful state of mind from which to create and live your best life from. Strive to be truly happy and do not allow external influences to effect your state of mind and happiness. With this mindset and attitude nothing in the world can stop you from achieving your dreams.
