My PARENTS Forced Me Into PROSTITUTION!

My PARENTS Forced Me Into PROSTITUTION!

Just joking.

But they do absolutely, 100% *REFUSE to send me money, which makes it just a little bit harder when times get tough.

Dad is a firm believer in the old school thinking that “life is tough” and “you need to work f***ing hard to make anything happen”. Well, I agree with him, on some level, but not in its entirety. Yes, life is tough, sometimes, but it does not need to be. The opportunities we young ones have available to us today are a world away from the times our parents grew up in, which makes it difficult for them, or more specifically in this case, Dad, to grasp the concept of the Ultimate Lifestyle.

Don’t get me wrong, Dad “gets it”. He knows that I am ruthlessly creating my Ultimate Lifestyle so I (in his words) “can meditate every day”, but I always get the subtle impression of cynicism that he thinks my true reason for wanting to create my Ultimate Lifestyle is just out of laziness and not wanting to work. While it is true that I do not want to work, it is definitely not from being lazy. Let me tell you, creating the Ultimate Lifestyle is a huge, lifetime commitment of work. I can easily spend 15 hours at my laptop, every day for a week, slowly chipping away at projects, which is ironic when the entire point of creating the Ultimate Lifestyle is to have the freedom to enjoy life, but then again, when you are focused so intently on projects that bring joy into your life, it never feels like work…

He supports me morally, but decided long ago, when A Quest for the Ultimate Lifestyle was first conceived, that he would not support my lifestyle financially, and rightfully so I believe. My concept of the Ultimate Lifestyle is to be totally financially independent, no handouts from Daddy, so while it would be nice the occasional bank transfer when funds are low, I respect his decision and know that it will just make the journey so much sweeter in hindsight once all my projects come to fruition.

So, thanks Dad for not sending me any money. Yes, really, thanks for not giving me the easy way out. You did not force me into prostitution as the title read, but instead you sparked that stubborn and determinated side of my personality. You made me reassess my situation and goals, focus on establishing immediate cash flows and most importantly, by not sending me money, you made me get resourceful. As a result, as of next month I will be moving into a beautiful home, just outside the city center. There is a spare double room downstairs with my name on it, and the rent will be free for two months in exchange for just conversing in English while I am living there. An opportunity for Spaniards to improve their English and the perfect opportunity for me to continue living in Madrid, working on my projects and save some money to move back into the city centre early next year. Phew.

Just for the record, I have never dealt drugs, nor prostituted myself in any which way or form. I have to admit it has been tempting though! Those high class escorts in America do get paid handsomely! ;) But at the end of the day, its just not my thing.

*In their defense, Mum on the other hand is a little more “giving”. She sends me $100 occasionally for Xmas and birthday presents, which is lovely. Thanks Mum! and if times really do get too tough, they will pay for my flight ticket back to New Zealand.
