You are going to die

You are going to die

Sorry, hate to be the one to break it to you, but yes, you are going to die. It is the Law of Impermanence, nothing lasts forever, including us.

Just as we are born, breath, sleep and reproduce, dying is an inevitable and natural fact of life.

People fear death because they are so scared of dying before they have truly experienced living, but we should really be more fearful of NOT living, being happy and enjoying our life to the fullest before dying.

According to our faithful Wikipedia, the current world average life expectancy from birth is just 65 years old, which is interesting when you consider that the average retirement age is 65 too.

65 seems to be the magic number here, so we can use it as a crude rule of thumb when contemplating your life plan.

How old are you now? Subtract that from our magic number (65), and you are left with a gross estimate of how many years you have left on this precious earth (X). Do not just read this, do the math and become your own fortune teller!

That means you have (X) number of abundant years, full of incredible opportunities to enjoy life : to explore, to travel, to laugh so hard that tears run down your cheeks, to sing and dance, to scream in delight then whisper into your lovers ear, to be held in someone’s arms, to hear the birds sing, to watch the sunrises and sunsets, to listen to your favorite music, to fornicate, frolic and be naughty, to decorate the Christmas tree each year and then after the festivities are over decide who has to tidy up with a round of paper rocks and scissors, to open birthday presents, to tell someone you love them, to create and appreciate our majestic nature. (X) number of years left to master the art of LIVING and know what true happiness really feels like.

Once again, not rocket science.

If you know that you are going to die and you only have (X) years left, then why are you wasting one precious second doing something you do not enjoy doing and living a life that does not completely satisfy and fulfill your essential nature?

If you know you are going to die and you only have (X) years left, is that big car, house and fancy jewelery that you are working and saving so hard for really important?

If you know you are going to die and you only have (X) years left, on the grand scale of everything, are all those petty things you are worried about, really worth worrying about?

Is this spiritual? No. Is this anything to do with religion? No. Is this the absolute truth of your life? YES!

The best way to eliminate fear of dying is to live your life, because only once you have truly lived will you understand what it means to die. Live a passionate life and follow your heart and you will pass into your grave with a smile on your face and without any unanswered questions, doubts or regrets.

Besides, what is the alternative option?

Think about it then go out there and live!

Another view is that death does not exist. Perceptions of existence create the illusions of the physical body and expected death. Reality depends on one’s perspective. The mind is convinced of life and death. The soul only knows uconditional love, forgiveness and immortality.
